We focus on technology that is easy to use, cost effective, and has the widest window of relevance. Window of relevance is the period when a product or system remains technologically relevant as other systems and technologies evolve around it. Our experienced team can design and install an exciting audio video system or effective control solution for the way you live.
Audio Video Advisors believes that an audio system that is acoustically rich, yet simple and intuitive to use, can do more to turn your house into a home than just about anything else we do.
At the center of our whole home audio designs is Sonos, a system so simple to use that the music will take center stage and the technology will disappear from view. A whole home audio system driven by Sonos will let you stream music to any room in your home. Music services like Pandora, Rhapsody, Last.fm, Spotify, and others, will put a vast library at your fingertips. Creating custom playlists is quick and simple. Accessing your preexisting music collection is at the touch of a button. Adding personal Pandora channels has never been easier. Sonos in your home will change the way you listen to the music you love.
Audio Video Advisors can also design a space that is dedicated to more critical listening. The most important single audio element in a critical listening environment is the room itself. We will take into consideration the shape of your room and its construction, and we will propose room modifications and acoustic treatments as required. Our component and speaker recommendations will reflect your listening preferences. The final result will be a musical experience that accurately recreates all the excitement and drama of the live studio or stage.
In 2011 AV Advisors was awarded a Lutron Electronics design and installation dealership for HomeWorks QS lighting control systems and Sivoia QS automated shades and blinds. We now offer a complete Lutron solution for home or business combining energy efficiency with convenience, comfort, and security.
Lutron dimming also saves energy. Lighting can account for up to 20% of a household’s annual electricity. With options like occupancy sensors, daylight sensors, and automated dimming synchronized to time of day and time of year, a Lutron system can be “tuned” to match your lifestyle while reducing your energy use.
By combining Lutron’s’ Sivoia automated shades with an effective lighting control design AV Advisors can create a total light control solution for your home or business that will save energy while enhancing the visual environment.
Sivoia QS can control the entire Lutron family of automated window treatments, including roller shades, traditional drapery tracks, the Kirbé™ vertical drapery system, tensioned shades, and Roman shades with CERUS™ safety technology. Its simplified wiring and common communication language allow for easy integration with Lutron HomeWorks QS lighting controls.
With near-silent operation (rated at less than 44 dBA at 3 ft), Sivoia QS roller shades allow you to manage daylight without disturbing the activity occurring in a space.
Life is better when everything works together. With more and more smart electronics playing a central role in our daily lives, they deserve an even smarter role at home.
Create the perfect movie ambiance in one touch. Tell your thermostat what to do from anywhere. Get a text when your teenager comes home and opens the mudroom door.
Audio Video Advisors is at the forefront of developing ‘App Based Control’ for residential and business environments. We design a control system by matching your needs with the most effective subsystems and iPad / Smart Phone Apps.
Now, instead of a relatively expensive and complex global control system for your home or business, we will recommend appropriate subsystems for controlling heating, humidity and cooling, door locks and garage doors, security systems, IP cameras, music and Home Theatre control. We make sure all the subsystems will work well together through the most effective suite of iPad and Smart Phone Apps.
Several iPads can be mounted in stands, on swing arms or installed in convenient locations flush on the wall. Lights, door locks, music, security system, climate control, IP cameras are all conveniently accessible through the familiar iPad or Smart Phone interface.
An App Based Control System is easily updated. As Apps improve, the newer version is just downloaded onto the iPad or Smart Phone. New subsystems can be added along with their respective Apps making this type of design both infinitely upgradable and easily scalable.
A “Residential Cinema” is a space in your home that is dedicated to movie and television viewing. We will do an acoustic analysis of the space and create a room design that includes acoustic panels to control and enhance the sound. Speakers may be hidden in the walls or behind the screen. Lighting and seating are all chosen to maximize the viewing experience. Many Residential Cinemas have a design “Theme” that can be anything from New Orleans Bijou to Star Wars Redux.

Chuck has owned and operated several businesses. Audio Video Advisors is the culmination of those experiences. As a partner in ‘Dennis-DeVries Builders’ Chuck built custom homes throughout the Upper Valley and Northern New England, giving him a hands-on appreciation of the construction process and the needs and concerns of builders, contractors and architects. Chuck’s love of new technology launched ‘DeVries Digital’ in 1995. He and his team subsequently installed over four thousand mini-dish satellite systems throughout the region.
In 2008 Chuck purchased Audio Video Advisors, expanding the already thriving business by focusing on the automation and control of residential energy and lighting systems. When not engaged in growing AVA, Chuck plays guitar, lifts weights and runs with his wife Carol and ‘Chelsea the Lab’ in the backwoods of Vermont.
Debbie has been working behind the scenes for 11 years answering the phone, doing AR/AP/Payroll and acting as a liaison with cable, phone and internet providers. Debbie anchors the day to day operations to Audio Video Advisors with her patience and constant upbeat attitude. When not working, Debbie enjoys baking, camping, sampling craft beer, traveling and hanging out with her family and pets.
